Rusty Looking Cast-Iron Grids?

Hello Nipissing!

Over the winter if your BBQ doesn’t see much usage, your grids could look in rough shape. Symptoms include rusty looking spots or even what appears to be flakes of rust. In our experience, most of the time this flaking is actually food build-up that is separating from the grids. This is normal and usually only appears in locations where you primarily cook. Rather than buying new grids and going through this aggravation every few years, we’re here to help!

Broil King® has created a video where they show you how to coat your grids with an unsalted vegetable shortening and baking it on with your BBQ. You can repeat this process as many times as you would like to give your grids new life and extra protection for the sunny days of summer BBQs with friends and family.

You can find the video here 🙂

Please leave a comment if this worked for you and any tips or tricks you learned along the way.

Happy BBQ-ing everyone!
